How To Get There
Fodele Village is situated approximately 30 kms from Heraklion Airport. Take the main highway towards Rethymnon and keep going. It is very easy to find! Flights to Heraklion (HER) Airport are available from April to October with many companies including My Travel, Thomson, BA, First Choice and Olympic offering competitive flights. From November to March you must fly to Athens (Easyjet is very reasonably priced!) then fly Olympic or Agean to Heraklion. If you book 'through' flight, then your baggage will be transferred automatically and is much easier. Alternatively, you can catch one of the ferries (Minoan Lines or Agean) which departs from Piraeus, Athens each evening and arrives early morning in Heraklion. There are plenty of taxis costing approximately 40 Euros and Car Hire is an obvious alternative especially if you are planning sightseeing tours to many of the main attractions.
